moslem or muslim ?

I'm not going to talk abut religion, just talking about simple spelling....

When I was in junior high, I was told that the correct way to spell "muslim" is moslem...

but now, I believe that the correct way to spell muslim is MUSLIM. Language will always evolve from time to time. If you watch CNN / BBC, the spelling MOSLEM is no longer exist. They use MUSLIM instead.

Then WHY muslims still use the Moslem spelling?
I saw many shops, banners or leaflets still use the Moslem spelling here in Jakarta, why?. Because just like myself, they were taught that muslim should be spelled MOSLEM.

I think the Moslem spelling was created by westerner in order for them to be able to pronounce the word correctly. Now that they have learned the correct spelling, they use the correct spelling instead of the "correct pronunciation" spelling.
